Sarah Caultry

Fur color: Cinnamon brown with a cream underbelly

Hair: Dark brown, though appears black from a distance. She wears it up in an elegant twist and has fluffy Miss Kitty-inspired bangs over her forehead

Eyes: Green with long dark lashes, permanently settled in a resting bitch-face

Ethnicity: Half Swede, half Japanese

Species: Black rat, dumbo-earred

Occupation: Retired opera singer and actress. She has had an onslaught of differing jobs due to increased boredom from being a modern woman seemingly stuck in the wrong time. She's been an adventuress, writer (nothing was published so far), attempted scholar, professional beauty, socialite...you name it, she's tried it. As of now, she is currently running a small bakery on King's Street.

Weapon of Choice: She packs quite a wallop with her parasol, and sometimes she carries a handgun in her clutch. Can't be too careful these days.

Bases (Appearance wise): Irene Adler (Doyle, Granada, and Ritchie), Oruha (CLAMP's Clover), Megara (Hercules), and just a hint of Christine Daae for flavor

Historical Inspirations: Marie Studholme, Lillie Langtry, Catherine Walters, Josephine de Beauharnais, Sofia Kovalevskaya (her namesake), Elizabeth Cochrane (better known as Nellie Bly), Ada Lovelace, Lily Elsie

Fictional Inspirations (Disney and otherwise): Irene Adler, Oruha (Clover), Hone-Onna (Hell Girl), Jane Porter (Tarzan), Meg (Hercules), Countess Regina Bartholomew (Star Trek Moriarty's lover), Nellie Brie (An American Tail series), Mrs. Lovett (Sweeney Todd: Demon Barber of Fleet Street), Mary Poppins (as played by High Queen of Sass, Dame Julie Andrews)

Voice: Susan Egan with a Julie Andrews inspired London accent

Appearance:  About Basil's height (four heads tall), Sarah is very curvaceous with soft fine features. She wears mostly blue, green, or her favorite colour purple gowns. She wears a modest amount of jewelry such as a pair of pearl earrings and a cameo (a gift from Ratigan) along with a bit of dark eye make-up. She also wears black and white button-up heeled boots. She has a dark brown heart-shaped nose and full lips with a beauty mark by her right eye. Her left ear has a notch in it and both are rimmed with black. Her pink banded tail is always hidden by the trail of her gown. Her paws are brown with little white claws with finely sharpened points. She wears white or black gloves to hide them and carries a black parasol when she goes outside. She is an avid fan of hats and has a large collection of them to match her dresses. When she isn't wearing hats, she has headpieces and hairpins. She almost always has something on her head.

*Uses her looks as a way to make certain men look foolish, and in getting her way

*She is remarkably clever and enjoys knocking heads (along with words) with both Basil and Ratigan

*She does not handle guns well despite carrying one in her clutch. She mostly dishes out punishment with her parasol

*She speaks fluently in most Romantic languages, though her native tongue is Swedish and Japanese

*Named for her great grandmother Sofia

*Has been singing since she was five years old, and was privately tutored

* Almost always wears her hair up since it gets in her way. Takes it out at night

*Stubborn to a fault, with an uncharming knack for insults

*Has a large appetite and is not a very picky eater

*She is upset rather easily, and shoots her mouth off even if said insulting party is dangerous.

*The bakery she opens rests below her flat that she lives in when not at work

*Her relationship with the British government is not exactly friendly, though she admires the Queen

*Changed her name legally to Sarah Caultry in 1884

*She went by Mademoiselle Relda on stage

*She is the victim of a violent crime (that happened in Sweden) and has difficulty producing children. Despite this, her then husband Daniel insists they try anyways and the resulting pregnancy nearly kills her and she loses the baby. She is no longer able to have any children afterwards. (She's still very angry about this)

*Has been called both lovely and charming by those in the high social circles, though some are quite nervous about the rumors of a secret romance between her and the notorious Professor Ratigan

*She has been privy to many of Ratigan's secrets, but she is sworn to keep quiet about them (heck, she won't even tell ME any of them!)

*She is a smaller breed of rat and can pass for a mouse if one ignores the smaller ears and longer tail

*She is not a fan of the corset, and instead prefers the more "scandalous" bustier to keep her figure full.

Her title of Lady and Mlle were given to her by the public, and she liked this so much she put it into her name and reputation

*Though not a practicing soprano, she can hit very high notes unheard by the human ear which shatters glass. She doesn't use this ability often as she fears it will ruin both her singing and speaking voice

*She keeps a letter-opener in her garter

*Both Ratigan and Basil refer to her as "Woman." Especially when angry with her.

*Is well versed in the language of flowers, and often leaves a bouquet behind as a calling card. The type of flower varies depending on the type of message she's leaving.

*Cannot hold her liquor. At all.

*Smokes from a filter, but is constantly trying to quit. Though she will light one up when she's nervous

Personal Motto: "Though she may be but little, she is fierce." - William Shakespeare, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Act 3 Scene 2
"Confound that wretched little siren! How is it that one look, one little word from her can cut me so deeply!" - Professor Ratigan

Hopefully this is the last time I upload a bio for Miss Caultry. She's starting to get confused which version of her I'm sticking with, the poor thing.

I actually rather like the above quote Ratigan has. He often drags on into monologues because he's a drama queen like that, and his feelings for her confuse him most of the time. It's okay, Ratigan. You'll understand at some point. *pats him, but is bitten*

Anyways, I own this little spitball of curly hair and sass, and nothing else.

This is exactly how I handled Bastial, he went through about five to seven Beta versions of himself before he was molded into the Bastial we know and love. He also has multiple influences, more loosely based off the Lone Ranger and John Wayne. Extremely loosely. :XD: His biggest influences are Yosuke Hanamura and Darkwing. A crouching moron, hidden badass plus half cloud cuckoo lander.
Perhaps I can find a way to transplant Sarah when I revive Bastial's Verda London Chronicle series, have her be Michael's friend.
